Huge cloud of smoke rises on third day of riots and fires in Honiara, Solomon Islands
Tensions remained high in Honiara, the capital of the Solomon Islands, as riots, looting and arson continued for a third day on Friday November 26.
There were reports of a building on fire behind the prime minister's residence.
This video was shot on Kukum Highway and Mendana Avenue in Honiara.
The unrest has been blamed on anger over economic worries, poor public services and foreign workers taking local jobs.
Many were also angry when Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare switched to recognising mainland China over Taiwan in 2019.
