Ocala, FL - A Florida man was arrested after he reportedly threatened two Ocala car wash workers with an axe when they were closing up the business for the day.

Bryce Thayer, 36, is accused of two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill after he reportedly held up an axe to two car wash workers in Ocala.

He is also facing a possession of drug paraphernalia charge.

The Marion County Sheriff's office responded to an Ocala car wash around 8:40 p.m., March 9, after a physical disturbance was reported.

Two car wash workers reported they were closing up the business and locking the doors when Thayer approached them, appearing to be very irate, a probable cause affidavit said. When Thayer was asked to leave, he held a large axe in a threatening manner toward the workers, the report said.

Out of fear for their safety, the workers lunged for Thayer, trying to disarm him, they told deputies. They pushed Thayer to the ground while one of the car wash workers hit Thayer in the face several times with his elbow to disorient Thayer, the worker told deputies, while the second worker got the axe away.

Both witness statements and security footage confirmed the victims' statements, deputies said.

The worker held Thayer to the ground until deputies arrived.

Deputies located a glass pipe during a post-arrest search. The pipe is believed to be a methamphetamine pipe, deputies said.

Thayer was transported to the Marion County Jail.

-----
Pierce County, WA - Pierce County deputies found themselves in an unusual pursuit with a 40-year-old convicted felon on Tuesday.

Just after midnight, Pierce County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) deputies located a truck with no working taillights and attempted a routine traffic stop in unincorporated Pierce County, PCSO announced.

As deputies ran the suspect’s license plate, they learned that the same truck had recently fled from daytime deputies the week before. At that time, deputies did not continue the pursuit due to heavy traffic conditions. PCSO also confirmed that the suspect had a felony warrant.

“The suspect decides to take his chances at getting away a second time, but is disappointed to learn the deputies don’t back down this time,” PCSO stated.

The Tuesday pursuit began at 99th Street and Golden Given Road, with the suspect continuing to flee through Tacoma and eventually onto northbound I-5.

The suspect took the city center exit and then the exit for E. 26th Street, where he lost control of the truck and jumped a curb on E. 26th. Deputies used stop sticks to flatten his tires at some point during the pursuit, and the vehicle was disabled.

Pierce County Deputy Carly Cappetto said what happened when deputies ordered the man to exit his vehicle.

“The deputies doing the felony traffic stop told the man to get out of the car, and the man is complying, but he can’t get out of the car because he doesn’t have any legs,” Deputy Cappetto said.

Cappetto said the man was using makeshift paddles to operate the foot pedals. He crawled out of the car, was handcuffed, and was arrested.

The suspect had a felony warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle and a misdemeanor warrant for driving with a suspended license. The new charges included eluding and another charge for driving with a suspended license.

-----
Flagler County, FL - Deputies in Flagler County said they were forced to use a K9 to capture a career criminal.

DeLand resident James Myers, 33, was arrested Monday after deputies said he fled a traffic stop in a stolen pickup truck.

Investigators said Myers led deputies on a high-speed chase before crashing the vehicle and attempting to hide under a home.

According to investigators, Myers was traveling 92 mph in a 30 mph zone before crashing the truck in a ditch.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said they released K9 Uno to get Myers to come out from the home’s crawl space.

Myers eventually crawled out to deputies with K9 Uno attached to his arm.

Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly commended the K9 unit for capturing the suspect. “Myers thought he could hide, but you can’t fool Uno, who is trained to take a bite out of crime even if you crawl under a house,” Staly said. “This dirtbag just won’t learn, and now he’s dog bit and is, hopefully, facing a long prison term.”

Myers was transported to AdventHealth Palm Coast for medical clearance before being booked into the Flagler County jail.

He faces charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding, habitual driving with a suspended license, resisting arrest without violence, dangerous excessive speeding, and reckless driving.

The arrest follows separate charges filed against Myers on March 1 by the Bunnell Police Department for aggravated assault without intent to kill.

In that incident, authorities say Myers pointed a firearm at a woman and threatened her because she refused to participate in a robbery with him.

Deputies said Myers has an extensive criminal history in Florida.

His record includes previous arrests and court cases for theft, drug charges, multiple counts of fleeing law enforcement, and several probation violations.

-----
Cobb County, GA - When it comes to turkeys, they're not the kind of bird you just "shoo" out of the way.

That's what Cobb County Police Department officers learned recently, at least, as they worked to clear a tricky traffic situation caused by an ornery turkey in the roadway.

The department posted bodycam video Wednesday of the situation — involving "Henry" — on Milford Church Road this week.

"If you need a laugh today, this video will do it," the department wrote on Facebook. "Officers responded to Milford Church Rd after reports of a turkey blocking traffic. The suspect, identified as Henry, was less than cooperative and definitely not friendly with the officer trying to help move him along. The interaction is hilarious and had the officers on scene laughing. Trust us… you don’t want to miss this video."

The video shows officers on scene laughing as they try to get Henry out of the way and as Henry, in turn, tries to get them out of his way.

"That thing was coming after me, man!" one officer says. "I'm not trying to get pecked by no turkey!"

"It tried to attack me!"

"Oooh it's right there... he's fluffing his feathers man I don't like it... he's getting mad... look at him bro, he's bucking up!"

"Henry's got beef with me."

"I don't like birds bro, I don't mess with birds."

Eventually some hootin' and hollerin' and a few shouts of "get outta here Henry!" got the turkey going.
