Woman 'disgusted' after finding large spider in delivery from Shein
Daniek Van Den Berg, 18, purchased a Shein fibre bath towel from the retailer’s website on April 22.
Her order arrived on 3 May and Daniek, from the Netherlands, opened the package a day later – and was horrified to discover a large black spider sitting inside.
She threw the package into the garbage bin around 8 am and when she came back from work 10 hours later, the spider had disappeared.
“I purchased the Shein order about two weeks ago," she said
“The order arrived last Monday, I opened the package a day later and found the spider. It was alive.
“I was so disgusted, I threw the package in the garbage bin around 8 am, then had a 10-hour shift at work and when I came back from work.
"I wanted to kill it but it was gone!”
Daniek shared a video of the spider sitting in her Shein package on her TikTok page, which has since racked up over 6.6 million views and over 66,100 shares – leaving users horrified.
In a separate video, Daniek tries to locate the spider in the packaging but the creature is nowhere to be seen.
She opens the package and removes the product onto the ground, unfolding the towel to see if the spider is lurking on the item.
Daniek has since sent an email to Shein to ask for a refund but claims not to have received a reply from them yet.
The shopper said: “I sent an email to Shein to ask for a refund but I got an automatic email that it could take two months before they can respond.
“My final thought is that this can happen to any company and that I don't blame Shein, but I just find it a little shocking that this happened to me.”
Shein was asked for a comment.
