Delhi told to prepare for smog and pollution emergency
As the smog in India's capital Delhi worsens, the country's Pollution Board on Friday (November 12) told people to prepare for an emergency.
The board said government, private offices should reduce the use of private transport by 30% and advised Delhi's residents to limit outdoor exposure.
Earlier this week, local authorities had already ordered a shutdown of brick kilns, and a crackdown on garbage burning and dust.
The worsening situation comes as world leaders are meeting in Glasgow for the COP26 climate summit to tackle the global environmental crisis.
The file footage from October 2020 shows just how bad the pollution in Delhi can get.
