A team of Japanese youths have exemplified their rope-skipping capability once again by breaking the Guinness World Records title for the most skips over a single rope in one minute by a team.

Members of the E-Jump Fuji in Shizuoka, Japan, managed to jump over the spinning rope 230 times, five more than the previous record which was set by elementary school students in the same area.

This attempt was made at a rope-skipping lesson. The E-Jump Fuji team consists of elementary school students in Fuji city, some of which were team members of the previous record holder.

Naoyuki Nishizawa, chairman of the Fuji Municipal Rope Skipping Association, says fast-skipping in a figure of eight is E-Jump Fuji’s speciality.

"By attempting to break a Guinness World Records title with one of the team’s best tricks, I wanted the members to understand the importance of setting a goal and working hard towards it. And I hope that, through this challenge, they realize that nothing is impossible."
