15-storey block of flats engulfed in flames and smoke in Milan, Italy
A huge blaze has destroyed a 15-storey block of flats on the outskirts of Milan, in Via Antonini.
Footage filmed today (August 29) at around 6 pm from a balcony nearby the incident shows the tower engulfed in flames and smoke.
The blaze broke out at around 17.45 pm, allegedly from one of the apartments. It then spread upward very quickly.
The fire is still raging.
70 families lived in the building. Operations are underway to check if there are still people trapped inside. At least 20 people were rescued for bruises or minor intoxications.
The mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, said: "For now we have no reports of victims".
