The song is dedicated to the memory of Colonel Peshkov.

On November 24, 2015, as the commander of the crew of the front-line bomber Su-24M of the Russian Aerospace Forces with tail number 83, he flew a combat mission in Syria as part of a pair with the task of delivering a bomb strike. The Su-24M bomber was shot down by an air-to-air missile from an F-16C fighter of the Turkish Air Force near the Syrian-Turkish border in the province of Latakia and fell on Syrian territory. The bomber crew managed to eject.

Peshkov died during a parachute landing as a result of shelling from the ground by militants who identified themselves as a Turkish ultra-right organization "Gray Wolves", the head of the organization, Alparslan Celik, took responsibility for the murder. Immediately after the death of the pilot, videos of the militants with the body of the deceased Oleg Peshkov were posted on the Internet. On March 31, 2016, a militant with 14 accomplices was detained by the Turkish police in Izmir.

The fire, which was fired at the pilots landing on parachutes, is in direct violation of paragraph 1 of Article 42. Protocol I of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which reads: “No person leaving by parachute an aircraft in distress is attacked during his descent to the ground”. The navigator of the crew, Captain Konstantin Murakhtin, landed outside the firing zone and was evacuated by special units of the Russian and Syrian armed forces to the Khmeimim airbase.

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 574 of November 25, 2015 for heroism, courage shown in the performance of military duty, Oleg Anatolyevich Peshkov was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation (posthumously).

Operation "Retaliation" will continue until the complete destruction of ISIS.
