Suspect who shot at LAPD officers and got away when being pursued by the officers, is later arrested
On September 9, 2023, at around 1:45 a.m., Hollywood Division uniformed officers were flagged down by security guards in front of a nightclub located on the southwest corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Ivar Avenue. The security guards advised officers that a group of patrons were fighting and pointed out a male who appeared to be the cause of the altercation.
The officers observed the suspect, a male, White, approximately 30 years old, enter the driver’s seat of a white Mercedes-Benz that was parked on Ivar Avenue south of Hollywood Boulevard. The suspect drove his vehicle in reverse, negotiated a turn and stopped in the middle of the street facing the west curb.
As the officers drove towards the suspect’s vehicle, the suspect, while still seated, pointed a handgun outside of the driver’s side window and fired his gun towards people on the west sidewalk, which resulted in an OIS.
The suspect immediately fled southbound in his vehicle towards Sunset Boulevard. Officers initiated a pursuit and, after a short distance, lost sight of the suspect’s vehicle and terminated the pursuit.
At this time, no officers or community members are known to be injured as a result of this incident.
