A suspect who fled from police in Parma and struck two other vehicles is in custody.

According to a release from Parma Police Department Lt. Dan Ciryak, at around 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, an officer attempted to stop a red Ford Fusion near the area of South Canterbury and Renwood Drive.

Police say the driver of the Fusion failed to stop after the officer initiated his lights and siren. The driver fled from the officer, making his way to Westminster Dr. northbound, then to Pearl Rd. The suspect then drove eastbound on Snow Rd. from Pearl Rd. before sideswiping two other cars that he tried to drive between near the intersection of Snow Rd. and W. 79th St.

The male suspect bailed from his car and then fled on foot northbound from that location as officers converged on the area. The man, who has not yet been named by police, was finally apprehended by a Parma Police K-9 unit in the 7600 block of Dresden Ave.

Police released new details Thursday, saying the suspect -- identified as 22-year-old Coley Ortez Demetrius Mack-Luckett of Cleveland -- has been charged with one count of failure to comply flee or elude. His case will be presented to a Cuyahoga County grand jury.

The vehicle that the suspect was driving was initially taken at gunpoint in a carjacking that occurred on September 20, 2022, in Parma.

Ciryak adds that the victims that were in the vehicles that were struck by the suspect driver did not suffer serious injuries.
