South Africa: broken water tower turned into the largest mailbox in Africa
This isn’t any ordinary mailbox! This 6-metre tall post box used to be a water tower which explains its gigantic look.
It can be found in Calvinia, a town located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa.
When the local doctor’s wife said that she thought it looked like a post box, he appealed to the business chamber to convert it into one. It operates as any other mailbox, and every letter that gets posted there gets a hand-stamped flower on it.
It has now become a popular landmark attracting many tourists curious to photograph the largest mailbox in Africa.
