Oakville driver blows by stop signs oblivious to cops in pursuit
By: An Oakville driver faces several charges after running through two stops signs in front of Halton Regional Police officers.
A short clip posted to social media by police first shows the SUV driver blowing through a stop sign at one intersection. Another cruiser tries to intercept the driver with lights flashing, but to no avail as the driver can be seen ignoring another stop and traveling straight through.
The oblivious driver finally is brought to a stop when another police vehicle races up alongside and cuts off the SUV.
The name of the driver has not been released by police. She is charged with disobeying stop signs and failing to stop for police.
Police filmed the incident today (Sept. 2) in the area of Sixteen Mile Dr. and George Savage Ave.
“We wish we didn’t have to say this, but.. Stop Signs = Time to Stop. Lights and Sirens = Time to Pull Over. Traffic laws and signage exist for everyone’s safety. Halton, obey all traffic laws, at all times,” police say over Twitter.
