A source close to Iran’s Supreme National Security Council has pointed the finger at Israel for recent security incidents in the Persian Gulf region.

The source revealed that Israel’s spy agency Mossad has set up cyber warfare units in the United Arab Emirates with the aim of destabilizing the region. It said Israel is also transferring high-tech equipment in order to disrupt navigation and communication systems in nexus with the Emirati intelligence service. The source accused Tel Aviv of trying to sow discord among Persian Gulf countries and spark military confrontations. The revelations come amid a blame game by some western countries over ship-related incidents off the U-A-E and Oman. On Tuesday, at least five oil tankers also simultaneously announced losing control over their maneuvering, raising concerns about the security of Persian Gulf shipping routes and prompting rumors about the cause.
