Far-right groups protest against COVID-19 restrictions in Bucharest as infection rates rise
More than 5,000 far-right protesters marched on Saturday in Bucharest to reject upcoming new restrictions that authorities hope will combat an alarming surge of COVID-19 infections.
The video shows protesters dancing while holding signs that read "Save the Children", "Our freedom is given by God not by Government" and "Totalitarism always began with few restrictions".
Daily COVID-19 infections in the country have skyrocketed from around 1,000 daily cases a month ago to 12,590 new cases on Saturday.
That was Romania’s highest daily number of infections since the pandemic started.
