Residents in China flock to catch penis fish blown onto beach by strong winds
Thousands of residents flocked to catch penis fish blown onto a beach by strong winds in eastern China.
Video captured in the city of Yantai in Shandong Province on November 9 shows residents using fishing nets to catch penis fish in the sea at night.
Strong winds blew the urechis unicinctus, also known as penis fish, onto the beach and local residents easily caught buckets full of penis fish.
The penis fish is a species of marine spoon worm, which can be found in the Bohai Gulf of China.
The worm can be made into Chinese cuisine by being stir-fried with vegetables, or dried and powdered to be used as an umami enhancer.
