Bratenahl police have released dash camera video showing the alleged assault of an officer by a suspect during a traffic stop earlier this month.

Brittany Clemis-Jones, 29, was pulled over by authorities on Interstate 90 for suspicion of driving under the influence. Officials say she refused to exit her car when asked to perform sobriety tests, and during the ensuing struggle, she was accused of striking an officer in the face with her cell phone.

Law enforcement released body and dash camera footage on Friday of the incident that occurred around 3 a.m. back on March 7. In the video, Clemis-Jones can be seen arguing with officers while talking to her mother on her phone, and eventually the two officers attempt to forcibly remove her from the vehicle.

As she is removed from her seat, dashcam footage shows Clemis-Jones hitting a female officer in the face with her right hand at least once before being dragged to the ground and handcuffed. Clemis-Jones' cell had been in her right hand before being apprehended.

The officer was taken to the hospital for her injuries, but has since been released. Additionally, authorities say a stolen gun was found in Clemis-Jones' vehicle, and her two children were also inside the car when she was pulled over and witnessed her arrest.

Last week, a Cuyahoga County grand jury indicted Clemis-Jones on the following charges:

* Assault of a peace officer
* Harassment by inmate
* Improperly handing firearms in a motor vehicle
* Receiving stolen property
* Driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
* Endangering children (two counts)

Clemis-Jones, who lives in Cleveland, is due to be arraigned on April 4.
