Heron captured hunting unsuspecting birds at watering hole in South Africa
A black-headed heron was captured hunting and eating unsuspecting birds at a watering hole in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa.
Footage shows the heron crouching over and stalking its prey before striking and catching the birds in its beak.
"We sat there for more than an hour and in that time the heron was able to catch three birds," the filmer told Newsflare.
Herons are known for mainly eating fish and amphibians but they sometimes snack on smaller birds.
This footage was filmed on September 26.
