Woman tries to escape Bowling Green correctional facility through ceiling vent

Bowling Green, OH - A female resident at the Northwest Community Correction Center (NWCCC) tried to escape Feb. 24, investigators said.
Facility officials were tipped off by a fellow resident that Trisha Lane, 40, had crawled up an air vent in the bathroom around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday.
After checking the immediate area, and then checking the roof, a security officer climbed a ladder and spotted Lane in a mechanical area of the vent.
She was taken into custody just before 9:30 p.m., according to a release.
Authorities said Lane did not make it off NWCCC premises at any time during her attempted escape.
Lane told the Bowling Green Police officer she had met up with a boyfriend while on furlough and “somehow ended up pissing dirty,” likely referencing a failed urine test.
Facility staff told the officer that Lane’s probation was being revoked and that she would spend the rest of her drug possession sentence at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker.
She was then taken to the Wood County Jail.
Lane appeared in court Wednesday. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 2.
