Bodycam shows Buffalo's deputy police commissioner Craig Macy shoving a woman to the ground

Buffalo, NY - The Buffalo Police Department has released body camera footage from Saturday night's incident along Chippewa Street, where deputy police commissioner Craig Macy has been accused of shoving a female to the ground during an altercation involving several individuals on the sidewalk outside businesses along the entertainment corridor.
Buffalo police commissioner Erika Shields said Tuesday in a statement that the department released the body cam footage to provide further context in the public interest. It was one of several violent altercations Macy was said to have responded to while working the detail Saturday night.
Shields says the footage makes it clear that "the deputy commissioner was leading from the front, and responding to an intense physical altercation between multiple individuals, including the woman who was pushed back as she attempted to re-engage with other individuals involved in the altercation."
