York police officer crashes into home invasion suspects vehicle when they tried to flee

Markham, Ontario - Police have released new video footage that shows the moment a cruiser collided head-on with a fleeing suspect vehicle following a botched home invasion in Markham.
The incident happened at a home in the area of Warden Avenue and Enterprise Boulevard at around 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Police say that they were contacted by a victim who reported that three masked men were at her door identifying themselves as police officers.
However, when officers arrived on scene, they observed a white sports utility vehicle speeding away, police say.
The footage released by police on Friday afternoon shows the ensuing hunt for the suspects from several vantage points.
At the outset of the video, a police vehicle is seen blocking the path of the suspect vehicle in a parking lot, prompting a suspect to exit the vehicle and hop over a nearby fence while an officer gives chase.
Seconds later, dashcam footage from another responding police vehicle shows a head-on crash with the suspect vehicle as it tried to again leave the scene.
A few minutes after that, footage from another police dashcam captures the arrest of one suspect at the side of a road nearby.
“I have a firearm recovered,” one officer says over the radio.
“I got another one under arrest,” another says.
Police say that all three suspects were ultimately arrested following a short foot pursuit.
Aquille Kadeem Malcolm, 27, of Toronto, Roy Joseph Gouveia, 24, of Durham Region and Miracle Osamuyi, 24, of Toronto, are each facing five charges, including robbery using a restricted firearm.
Police say that at the time of their arrest all three suspects were bound by a judicial release order for unrelated charges.
Malcolm was also on probation and is facing additional charges for violating the terms of his probation order, police say.
