Ford Heights, IL - An officer that happened to be in the right place at the right time saved a woman from choking after she swerved onto the side of the road.
Surveillance camera video from an intersection in Ford Heights, Illinois showed the moment that a woman found herself in a life-threatening situation when she began choking while driving.
The woman pulled over to the side of the road, even rolling onto the curb, before jumping out of the car and grabbing at her chest.
In a stroke of luck, Officer Zachary Finn with the Cook County Sheriff's Office was approaching the intersection from another road when he spotted the woman pull off to the side of the road. He immediately pulled behind her to see what was going on.
Finn approached the woman, and she indicated that she was choking, so the officer immediately began performing the Heimlich maneuver on her. Fortunately, Finn was able to clear the woman's throat within moments.
The woman declined further care from paramedics, and Finn said she was able to safely drive away on her own.
