Oklahoma Highway Patrol released video of a chase that led to a trooper performing a TVI, arrest
-----
Oklahoma City, OK - On June 30, a trooper saw a maroon SUV with a defective windshield and a driver not wearing her seat belt near State Highway 10 and U.S. Highway 60. When the trooper tried to pull over the driver, she refused to stop and started a pursuit.
The chase lasted a little over a minute after a trooper performed the TVI, causing the SUV to spin out into a grassy area.
OHP officials said the suspect told the trooper that she fled because she didn't want her vehicle towed.
The driver was arrested and booked into the Ottawa County Jail on multiple counts, including attempting to elude law enforcement, driving under suspension, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and other offenses. A teenage passenger in the vehicle was released to a guardian, according to OHP officials.
Authorities later learned that the suspect fled from law enforcement in Missouri nearly a month before this incident. She escaped capture from that chase, but Missouri officials have since filed charges against her.
