Suspected car thief jumps off the 5th floor of parking garage to escape police
By: On Friday, July 22, 2022, at around 2:50 am, officers responded to 3372 Peachtree Rd NE on a report of vehicle break-ins in a parking structure. Officers located three adult male suspects in the structure. The suspects attempted to flee in a vehicle but crashed. Officers arrested the driver immediately, but two passengers fled on foot. One suspect escaped, and a second jumped from the structure’s fifth level. That suspect was injured and was arrested by units on the ground.
Arrested: Jalen Wright, age 20, and Cartier Evans, age 19.
Mr. Wright was taken to the Fulton County Jail. Evans is in stable condition and will be in the Fulton County Jail once released from the hospital. Both are charged with Aggravated Assault, Attempted Theft of Auto, Possession of Firearm, During the Commission of a Felony.
