Corona, CA - A pursuit in the City of Corona came to an abrupt end when police used the Grappler system to disable a suspect’s vehicle.
The chase occurred Oct. 2, when police were asked to assist in the pursuit of a suspected drunk driver who was driving recklessly and endangering the public while trying to evade officers, the Corona Police Department posted.
The department’s FLEX Team successfully grappled the vehicle less than a minute after arriving, according to the post.
“After a failed attempt to break free, the suspect surrendered and went to jail needing new tires,” police said.
The Police Department introduced its new Grappler pursuit-ending device in September after it was successfully used to stop a pursuit in late August.
