Yuba City man sentenced to prison after leading police on a chase, ramming a patrol vehicle.
Yuba City, CA - A 49-year-old Yuba City man has been sentenced to 10 years and eight months in prison after leading police on a chase and ramming a patrol vehicle.
In December 2022, David Mattu was seen driving over the Yuba City Police Department's lawn and doing a donut on Poole Boulevard, police said.
A police officer tried to pull Mattu over for reckless driving, but he led police on a chase through the city.
The chase eventually ended when Mattu rammed a patrol vehicle, causing minor injuries to an officer.
The SWAT team was called to get him out of his car.
Earlier this year, Mattu pleaded guilty to assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and resisting an executive officer with force or violence.
