A British Transport Films Classic from 1951.. large organisations like London Transport which has thousands of bus drivers, bus conductors inspectors and a myriad of other workers all needing to be fed. The ladies had to go to LT's very own training school to learn the ropes. This was the idyllic decade.. the war was over and there were lots of jobs to be had, people were beginning to have their own cars and houses.. I caught the tail end of Canteens when I joined the British Oxygen Company as a forklift driver where we had a great canteen - even served bottled Guinness with your lunch!
