Bodycam video of Port St. Lucie Police rescue of woman from St. Lucie River

Port St. Lucie, FL - A woman had to be rescued on Wednesday after she was nearly swept away when she walked into a river to cool off.
The Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) said that a passerby heard the 37-year-old woman’s “desperate screams for help” underneath the Crosstown Bridge in Port St. Lucie. They promptly called 911, as the woman clung to a concrete pylon, fighting to stay afloat.
The St. Lucie County Fire Department and PSLPD Marine Unit officials responded to the call and were able to provide the woman with a flotation device before pulling her to safety.
Body camera video was released by the PSLPD showing the rescue.
According to police, the woman was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery.
