Video shows JSO officer talking man down from jumping off Dames Point Bridge

Jacksonville, FL - On Sunday, April 12, officers were called to the bridge after a man was spotted getting ready to jump.

Ofc. Antonio Richardson is shown extending his hand to the man, offering to pray for him. Other responding officers are also seen encouraging the man to take Richardson's hand.

"Whatever you're going through, you can get through it," Richardson is heard telling the man.

The man then takes Richardson's hand and the two embrace on the side of the bridge.

"[The devil] ain't got you, we got you, alright?" Richardson is heard telling the man.

JSO said at that moment, their officers weren't the police, but rather people showing how much they cared for another person.
