Atlanta officers arrest John Bizzell when he was sitting inside a stolen BMW i4
By: On July 22nd, 2023, at approximately 11:35 AM, Zone 6 officers responded to a call for a stolen BMW i4. Upon arrival, the victims provided the responding officer with a GPS location of the vehicle, which showed the vehicle at the Chevron station located at 180 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE.
The responding officer requested an additional unit to check that location. When the other officer arrived at the Chevron station, he spotted the victim's vehicle backed into a parking space.
The additional officer confronted the suspect who was sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle and was able to detain the suspect without issue. The suspect, 28-year-old John Bizzell, was charged with Theft by Receiving (Auto) (O.C.G.A. 16-8-7). Mr. Bizzell was transported to the Fulton County Jail.
