Marion Florida deputies rescue 2-year-old not breathing after falling into pool

Ocala, FL - Deputies in Florida rescued a 2-year-old after he fell into a pool at an Airbnb rental and was initially unable to breathe, according to authorities.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said its deputies responded to the vacation rental in Ocala around 10:30 a.m. on April 20. His family told deputies he was playing in the living room, but “within a few short minutes” he opened the door to the patio and fell into the pool, MCSO said.
A family member noticed he was missing from the living room and initially pulled him from the water, according to the sheriff’s office.
Body camera footage shows two deputies rendering aid to the 2-year-old, who was lying on the patio.
A deputy provided rescue breaths and placed the boy on his side to expel the water he had taken in. The child eventually began to cough up fluids, according to body camera footage.
A deputy met a Marion County Fire Rescue ambulance at the roadway and placed him inside of the ambulance before medics transported him to a hospital, where he was stabilized, MCSO said.
The sheriff’s office said the 2-year-old fully recovered and returned home.
