Illegal immigrants bailed out of the vehicle before the smuggler stopped and was apprehended
By: A human smuggler led Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers working Operation Lone Star on a vehicle pursuit on US 281 in Hidalgo County on Aug. 16, 2022. Several illegal immigrants bailed out as the vehicle was moving. The driver eventually stopped and was apprehended. They were charged with evading arrest and smuggling of persons.
