Drone video shows cops tasing and arresting burglary suspect

Zionsville, IN - A man with a history of high-end heists was arrested on Saturday after a vigilant neighbor called police.
Fabian Eliseo Llancavil Nahuel, 38, was charged on Tuesday with resisting law enforcement and making a false identity statement.
Llancavil Nahuel was arrested on Saturday night after police tracked and chased him through the woods behind the Irishmans Run neighborhood in Zionsville. Drone video shows cops closing in on him as he starts to run toward Interstate 865, and that’s when a Whitestown police officer deployed a taser and put a stop to the pursuit.
Court records reveal the investigation started early Saturday evening when a neighbor noticed a “suspicious” vehicle stopping in front of several homes in the upscale neighborhood. That same neighbor told police they later saw a man dressed in all black running through several backyards.
After they called 911, the Zionsville Police Department launched their drone and tracked the suspect. The Whitestown Police Department ended up taking him into custody.
According to court documents, Llanvacil Nahuel had a burglar tool kit on him including gloves and a window punch.
Detectives indicated that they are still investigating what Llanvacil Nahuel was planning to do, but they did discover that he has active warrants out of Florida and Texas for grand theft and organized criminal activity charges.
“Their MO is, they will do some surveillance and so forth, usually high-end properties and residential areas,” security expert and former police officer Jeff Duhamell said. “A lot of times they are targeting specific items like jewelry or gold. Things that they can move out quick.”
Duhamell said this time of year is more important than ever with many families heading out for spring break and leaving their homes empty and unguarded.
“Think about what you would do if you are a burglar,” Duhamell said. “How would you get in the house? Look at the house. (You) wanna make sure in the sliding windows (you) got the bar down there. Make it tough for them to get in because they don’t like using too much time. They want to get in and out.”
Duhamell also emphasized that no amount of physical barriers can beat the power of a vigilant neighbor.
“Your neighbors need to look out for each other, and that was exactly what happened here,” Duhamell said. “Otherwise, he probably could’ve been successful, and we would’ve never known about it.”
Llancavil Nahuel is being held in the Boone County Jail on an ICE detainer. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on Wednesday morning.
