Bodycam shows Coweta County deputy hit during traffic stop on I-85

Coweta County, GA - A Coweta County sheriff's deputy is recovering after being struck during a traffic stop on I-85 earlier this week.
The sheriff's office provided bodycam video of the incident, in which a deputy and his trainee were conducting the traffic stop when the crash occurred.
The video shows the scary scene as a deputy spoke to a pulled-over driver when the loud rear-end crash happened. The bodycam video of the deputy doing the traffic stop indicates he may have been able to jump out of the way, while the other bodycam video appears to show the deputy taken to the ground and wincing in pain.
Fortunately, according to the sheriff's office, that deputy's injuries were minor, and he has been released from the hospital and is now recovering at home.
The sheriff's office said it's believed the crash was caused by a driver possibly experiencing a medical emergency.vvvvvvvvvv
