Gwinnett County, GA - A chaotic chain of events ended with a man in custody after dashcam and bodycam video shows he took off from a traffic stop and hit an officer's police cruiser.

Gwinnett County Police said the officer was also hit during the encounter. The video shows the officer was also able to run back toward his patrol car after the suspect fled.

The car then pulled into an apartment complex. Police said it initially appeared the driver was cooperating, as he put his hands out the window. However, they said that it didn't last long.

Video shows the driver putting the car in reverse and speeding off. That's when Gwinnett County Police said Dickens was struck along with his patrol vehicle.

Officers identified the driver, and days later, on June 5, police found him at a restaurant and tried to take him into custody. As soon as the officers approached, he tried to take off running. However, police managed to place him in handcuffs.

When they took him outside, the suspect also tried to take off again. They were able to secure his legs to prevent further escape attempts.

Police said they found narcotics and evidence he was involved in illegally selling drugs.

He faces several charges: aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, fleeing or attempting to elude police, two counts of willful obstruction, hit-and-run, reckless driver, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, driving while license suspended or revoked, improper use of a dealer tag, expired tag, and other narcotic-related charges.
