Garfield Heights police witness drug deal during undercover operation; 2 arrested after chase

Garfield Heights, OH - Garfield Heights police say officers arrested two people Friday after a chase ended in a crash.
According to police, the chase began around 5:20 p.m. when officers working an undercover operation witnessed a drug deal.
As the suspects went to leave, officers say they attempted to block in the car.
That’s when police say the suspect rammed an Ohio Investigative Unit vehicle and sped away from the scene.
A chase broke up, with the suspect ultimately crashing in Cleveland, according to police.
The driver and passenger were taken into custody.
Inside the car, police say they found 38 grams of suspected crack, 23 grams of suspected cocaine, eight grams of suspected fentanyl, a loaded gun and $3,334 in cash.
