Armed robbery suspect shot by Albuquerque officers after a brief foot chase

Albuquerque, NM - Albuquerque police has identified the armed suspect who was shot by officers Sunday.

Police say Gabriel Moralez robbed a gas station near Coors and Central Sunday night, taking off with about $140.

APD used surveillance video to track him to a nearby neighborhood. That’s when police say Moralez pulled out a gun and officers shot him.

Moralez was taken to the hospital and is now in jail.
