Boone County, KY - Video shows the moment a suspect sideswiped a police cruiser before crashing into a church during a chase in northern Kentucky.

Brenton Howland, 20, faces multiple criminal charges in three different counties.

It all started when police in Xenia, Ohio, were preparing to issue an Amber Alert after Howland allegedly forced the baby’s mother out of the car and drove off. Deputies in Boone County, Kentucky, spotted the vehicle shortly after 7 p.m. and initiated two chases before the crash.

Investigators said Sgt. Jeff Nagy was injured when Howland sideswiped his cruiser just before the collision.

A separate dash cam video shows the rescue of the two-month-old baby after the police chase ended with a car crashing into a church in Walton, Kentucky. That footage shows Boone County deputies approaching Howland’s car with guns drawn before one deputy carried the baby to safety.

Authorities confirmed that Sgt. Nagy and the baby are both OK. The child has been reunited with their mother.
