A 31-year-old man from Bloomfield Hills was arrested after a high-speed in Oakland County.

It happened just before 1 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

According to authorities, the Bloomfield Township Police Department was alerted to a potential drunk driver in a white Toyota Tacoma that was running red lights and driving erratically on Telegraph Road.

When police attempted a traffic stop on the speeding vehicle near Square Lake Road, the driver sped off, crossing all lanes of traffic and exceeding 100 mph.

The pursuit ended when the Toyota struck a curb near Humphrey Avenue, drove over the median into oncoming traffic, drove into a ditch on the side of the road and struck a tree.

When the driver exited the vehicle, police said he ran off. He was taken into custody shortly after. He reportedly smelled heavily of intoxicants.

Police identified the driver as Justin Michael Luark, a 31-year-old man from Bloomfield Hills. A search of the Toyota reportedly resulted in police finding a small bag of suspected Oxycodone.

A breath sample taken at the Bloomfield Township Police Department reportedly showed his BAC at .153.

Luark was charged with second-degree fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, operating while intoxicated and driving without a license. He was issued an $8,000 bond.
