Moore police release video of impaired driver, overturning car, with 11-month-old in the back

Moore, OK - A new video from Moore Police Officers is serving as a harsh reminder that not all passengers have a choice about getting in a car after a driver has been drinking.
In the video, Moore police describe how an illegal left turn and driving through a red light ends with Skyler Martinez-McCallie’s car on its side. Her precious cargo was in the back.
Officer Nicholes: “Hey, ma’am, are you – is your baby okay?”
Martinez-McCallie: “Please help me.”
Officer Nicholes: “We also got a baby inside.”
They were 11 months old, to be exact. An unwilling passenger, the baby was not able to say ‘no’ to getting in the car.
Officer Nicholes: “Hey can you hold him?”
Martinez-McCallie: “Yeah.”
Officer Nicholes: “Can you get ahold of him so I can push his button down?”
Thankfully, the baby and no one else on the road were harmed.
Officer Nicholes: “Bring baby over here.”
Moore Police said it’s amazing no one was hurt, as does Kristy Murrow, co-founder of Victims of Impaired Drivers, or VOID-OK. Her daughter, Marissa Murrow, was killed by a drunk driver in 2020.
“It’s unimaginable, I don’t understand it,” said Murrow.
Murrow also pointed out a detail from the police. McCallie’s blood alcohol limit was 0.14, nearly twice the legal limit.
