Louisville, Ky - Body camera video from officers with the Louisville Metro Police Department is showing the aftermath of a deadly UPS plane crash near Louisville last year.

The crash happened on Nov. 4, with plumes of smoke spanning a half a mile around the airport. The MD-11 plane crashed during takeoff at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport, with three crew members on board.

In the video released on Monday, an officer is seen asking drivers to either get out of their cars or go in a different direction. Emergency vehicles are spread across the area as the emergency unfolded.

The three crew members, along with 12 people on the ground, died from the crash and its aftermath. Twenty-three others on the ground were injured.

After the crash, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear declared a state of emergency to allow the state to move resources quickly to be used, including the National Guard and other disaster resources and expenses related to response and reimbursement.

The National Transportation Safety Board started an investigation in the days following the crash, processing the scene and collecting data from the plane's flight recorder.

According to a preliminary report, the fire ignited near the left pylon attachment area. The plane only reached about 30 feet before crashing, damaging multiple buildings, including a UPS warehouse and petroleum recycling facility.
