Abandoned Radioisotope generators..
In keeping with Weekend Cinema's raison d'etre here is something really different and interesting....initially I was put off by the seemingly Landon gangster/geezer stance sound and appearance but I persevered (I knew it'd be worth it)...when he translated and spoke Russian you knew he knew what he was talking about and thus was worth listening to.
What he wants to talk about is the radiation dangers of thousands of abandoned Thermal Generators that were deployed all over the coastline of the soviet far east - some 10,000 miles of coastline....most of it barren and uninhabited but not totally.
He goes on to explain what how and why - all things atomic and to a Rivet Counter I found it very interesting....hopefully itemfix will allow it through even if it's not the usual fayre - it's interesting and important - as evidenced by what happened regarding the The Lia Radiological incident which began on December 2, 2001, with the discovery of two orphan radiation sources near the Enguri Dam in Tsalenjikha District in the country of Georgia by some men looking for scrap metal.
It starts slow but gets you hooked after the first few minutes - bear with it (However, the same applies here, IF you are a TukTuk Merchant this isn't for you at all and by now you should know this channel isn't aimed at you - sorry 'bout dat. (he says with crossed fingers!)
Anyway, if you're interested in learning sommat
I'll let Andy Mcloone tell the tale himself - this is taken from his YT channel 2020. All credit and thanks go to Andy Mcloone.
