Drug bust from a traffic stop after suspect was tased during foot pursuit

Port Orange, FL - On March 4, 2026, at 0422 hours, Sergeant Raines initiated a traffic stop for a tint violation.
While Sergeant Raines was conducting the traffic stop, he observed the butt stock of an AR-15 in the back seat. The sole occupant, Bilal Itani, was asked to step out of the car after initially lying about a firearm being in the car.
Itani stepped out of the car, and moments later, Itani began to physically resist, pull away, and flee from Sergeant Raines. Itani then fled on foot, running behind businesses. Officers quickly set up a perimeter, and Itani was taken into custody after a successful Taser deployment by Sergeant Fischetti.
Itani was charged with trafficking in fentanyl (14.7 grams), possession of cannabis with intent to sell (1.25 pounds), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, possession of a short-barreled rifle (with drum mag), resisting without violence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Itani was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
