Atlanta officer rescues residents outside their burning home
-----
On January 31, 2025, around 2:00 a.m., Officer Ash was driving in the 700 block of Central Ave SW when he observed a house on fire. Without hesitation, he quickly ran up to the house and began to shout and bang on the front door to alert the residents inside.
The resident opened the door and was shocked to learn the house was on fire. Officer Ash was able to quickly get everyone to exit out the backdoor due to the fire taking over the front porch.
During this time, officer Ash was alerted that one of the family cats may still be inside, so he reentered the burning home in hopes of locating the cat. Thankfully, he noticed the cat running out the house to safety. Due to officer Ash's heroic actions, there were no reported injuries to the residents or their beloved cats.
The timely and selfless actions of Officer Ash not only saved lives but also highlighted the importance of community service and the dedication of our officers here at the Atlanta Police Department.
