Bodycam video shows Cobb County officers tangling with traffic-blocking turkey
-----
Cobb County, GA - When it comes to turkeys, they're not the kind of bird you just "shoo" out of the way.
That's what Cobb County Police Department officers learned recently, at least, as they worked to clear a tricky traffic situation caused by an ornery turkey in the roadway.
The department posted bodycam video Wednesday of the situation — involving "Henry" — on Milford Church Road this week.
"If you need a laugh today, this video will do it," the department wrote on Facebook. "Officers responded to Milford Church Rd after reports of a turkey blocking traffic. The suspect, identified as Henry, was less than cooperative and definitely not friendly with the officer trying to help move him along. The interaction is hilarious and had the officers on scene laughing. Trust us… you don’t want to miss this video."
The video shows officers on scene laughing as they try to get Henry out of the way and as Henry, in turn, tries to get them out of his way.
"That thing was coming after me, man!" one officer says. "I'm not trying to get pecked by no turkey!"
"It tried to attack me!"
"Oooh it's right there... he's fluffing his feathers man I don't like it... he's getting mad... look at him bro, he's bucking up!"
"Henry's got beef with me."
"I don't like birds bro, I don't mess with birds."
Eventually some hootin' and hollerin' and a few shouts of "get outta here Henry!" got the turkey going.
