Homicide suspect arrested after a high speed chase with Dayton police department

Dayton, OH - On April 13, 2026, around 6:30 p.m., an officer was able to positively identify a suspect in a homicide investigation as a driver of a vehicle. When the officer got behind the suspect, the suspect immediately accelerated in an attempt to get away from the officer.
The officer initiated a pursuit in the area of Lindale Ave. and E. Siebenthaler Ave. The pursuit lasted a little more than five minutes and ended on Davis Ave. near Massey St. The suspect, who was driving, as well as a female passenger.
Inside the vehicle officers located a handgun, loose ammunition, suspected drugs and paraphernalia.
The 47-year-old male homicide suspect was transported to an area hospital out of an abundance of caution and is currently in Montgomery County Jail and charges are being presented to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.
