A group of Royal Navy sailors braved winds as strong as 90 mph to complete a terrifying training exercise on the Southern Ocean.

Footage from February 1 shows a small patrol boat navigating its way over rough waves whipped up by extremely strong waves.

The filmer said that if the boat had capsized the rescue operation would have been difficult as the sea is freezing cold and they were in a remote location.
