It's the end of the 1950's and the writing is on the wall for the hundreds of steam engines nationwide... it would only be a few more years before Diesels and electric engines would be built.. this in itself brought out a multitude of different prototypes including this
unusual locomotive of the period... an eccentric old Colonel (named Colonel Fell) who was a bit of a tinkerer.. he was always making things and trying to do something different. He had an idea of using four 'pretty standard' diesel engines (one for each corner so to speak) to power a new diesel locomotive... after all, what could go wrong.
