Parkland, WA - A loose goat led Pierce County deputies and Animal Control on an unusual chase near Pacific Lutheran University, weaving through traffic before it was safely captured and taken to a rescue farm.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office said deputies and Animal Control responded June 29 at about 4:30 p.m. to the area of 122nd Street South and Park Avenue South after reports of a goat running loose and darting in and out of traffic.

During the response, one deputy tried to communicate with the animal by speaking what he believed was “goat language,” but the sheriff’s office said the goat wasn’t impressed.

After a 20-minute foot pursuit through the neighborhood, deputies and Animal Control cornered the goat and took it into custody. The sheriff’s office said the goat was transported to a local rescue farm, where it will be cared for while Animal Control works to find its owner.
