ECPD releases video of officer running into burning townhomes to rescue family

Eau Claire, WI - A police officer ran to burning townhomes, breaking down the door to rescue a family inside the townhomes that caught fire on Sunday.

Crews were called to the scene before 7a.m. on Sunday, September 13, on Stonewood Drive, the police officer arrived on the scene and learned a family was not out of one of the townhomes.

You can see heavy smoke and flames coming from a center unit in the four-unit townhouse.

The ECPD officer ran to the home, breaking down the front door, as fire crews are fighting the flames nearby.

The police officer ran upstairs and told the woman to get out with her two kids.

The officer then grabbed the baby from its crib, and they all make it outside safe.

There were no injuries reported.
