Grand Junction, CO - Four people are behind bars after driving through a car wash in an attempt to lose officers during a pursuit.
A patrol officer with the Aurora Police Department (APD) spotted a stolen pickup that matched the description of a vehicle used in a recent burglary.
Several officers attempted to pull over the truck, but it sped away.
The car chase ended shortly after the suspects drove through an occupied car wash near Hampden and Poplar in Denver. All four suspects jumped out of the truck and attempted to run on foot but were caught with the help of the Denver Police Department and the Cherry Hills Village Police Department.
The APD says that “These suspects are no strangers to APD – they’ve been arrested by us before for crimes like robbery, assault, kidnapping, sex offenses, drugs, prostitution, and car theft."
42-year-old Michael Sophia Dominguez-Alvarez, 41-year-old Guillermo Miguel Frias, 54-year-old Richard Dion Odell, and 61-year-old Kathy Fenay Woolfolk were arrested.
Currently, authorities are investigating whether the group was involved in the burglary, but additional charges regarding the pursuit are expected.
