Suspect nabbed by K9 after he fled from a traffic stop and crashed

Vero Beach, FL - A Vero Beach man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he fled a traffic stop, crashed his vehicle, and hid under nearby brush.
Christopher John Baptist was pulled over for a minor traffic violation, but deputies say he took off, reaching speeds more than 50 mph over the limit.
The pursuit ended when Baptist crashed his vehicle and fled on foot, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies called in K9 Remy, who tracked Baptist to a nearby area and found him hiding under brush.
Baptist was taken into custody and faces charges including:
* Fleeing and eluding at high speed
* Speeding more than 50 mph over the posted limit
* Providing false identification
* Resisting without violence
* Leaving the scene of a crash
* Driving with a suspended license
* Possession of a controlled substance
* Possession of drug paraphernalia
* Felony probation violation
The sheriff's office shared the arrest as part of its latest enforcement updates. Baptist remains in custody as he faces the charges.
